umbrella exploration
this series was a exploration of the umbrella’s cultural, physical, and emotional experience.
I was inspired by the internationalist style of Armin Hoffman, specifically his poster, Giselle. Something I really wanted to capture at the end of this project was the dramatics of the umbrella as well as the elegance.
umbrella translation
Showcasing the umbrella in 3 different ways was important in discovering design styles and way to convey a material and or concept. Using black and white only, I created a sense of silky texture on the representation of the umbrella.
The abstraction was created to make the umbrella appear more formal, whereas finally the logo was a direct representation of an umbrella’s appearance.
